Household appliances or Domestic appliances are devices used in our daily lives like cooking, cleaning, Food preservation, etc. Electrical safety testing is carried out to eliminate the risks of electrical shocks to users when using their products. Safety Testing of the household appliance is done under Internal standards IEC 60335-1, EN 60335-1 & IS 302 part 1.
About IEC 60335-1, EN 60335-1 & IS 302 part1
This International Standard deals with the safety of electrical appliances for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances.
